The Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL has directed all the coaches and players across all league venues on matchday 17 to wear black armbands in honour of the late Sebastien Brodericks-Imasuen.
A minute silence will also be observed before kick-off for the foremost coach of the league in the past.
The NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye disclosed this in a reaction to the death of Imasuen.
Elegbeleye described Imasuen as an icon of youth and club coaching.
Brodericks-Imasuen died at the age of 85 years in a private hospital in Benin, Edo State on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
He made global headlines after leading the Nigeria U-16 team to win the maiden FIFA Cadet Championship in China in 1985.
Apart from his successes at international level, ‘Sabara’ as he was fondly called, also coached El-Kanemi Warriors, Udoji United FC and Bendel Insurance.
