A large number of passengers who intended travelling to Lagos State from Ibadan, Oyo State were on Sunday stranded at the Obafemi Awolowo Station on the last day of the extended free train services provided by the Federal Government.

Some of the passengers who spoke to AIT.live while expressing their frustration said they tried severally to book tickets online without success, with others alleging that the ticket site was deliberately blocked to deprive them from securing seats on the train for undisclosed reasons.

Meanwhile, passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna rail route have applauded the Federal Government for the free yuletide train service, despite the difficulties and lapses they say, characterised the exercise.

Those who spoke to ait.live in Abuja on the final day of the exercise, called for better regulated incentives, on a routine basis.
