Golden Globes Awards 2024: “Oppenheimer” movie dominates 81st edition

The 81st edition of the annual Golden Globes Awards 2024 aimed honouring and celebrating excellence in both American and international film and television held Sunday January 7th at the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles California, United States.

The awards ceremony hosted by American stand-up comedian and actor Jo Koy saw the 2023 epic biographical thriller film “Oppenheimer” written and directed by British American filmmaker Christopher Nolan emerge the biggest winner with five awards out of the eight categories he was nominated in.

The movies “Succession “Mad Men”, “The X Files” won in four categories.

LIST OF WINNERS:

Best Motion Picture, Drama: “Oppenheimer”.

Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy: “Poor Things”.

Best Motion Picture, Animated: “The Boy and the Heron”.

Cinematic and Box Office Achievement: Barbie

Best Motion Picture, Non- English Language: “Anatomy of a Fall”.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama: Lily Gladstone, “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

Best Performance by an Actor and in a Motion Picture, Drama: Cillian Murphy ‘Oppenheimer’

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy: Emma Stone “Poor Thing”.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy: Paul Giamatti “The Holdovers”.

Best Original Score, Motion Picture: Ludwig Goranssou: “Oppenheimer”.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture: Da’Vine Joy Randolph: “The Holdovers”.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture: Robert Downey Jr. “Oppenheimer”.

Best Director Motion Picture: Christopher Nolan “Oppenheimer”.

Best Screenplay, Motion Picture: Justine Triet and Arthur Haran, “Anatomy of a Fall”.

The Golden Globes Awards founded by the Hollywood Press Association was first held in 1944.
