51 year old British actor TV host, Idrissa Akuna Elba popularly known as Idris Elba has launched a campaign against knife crime in Britain to take immediate action against youth unrest.
Idris Elba on Monday January 8th 2024 stood in front of the Parliament Square in the City of Westminster, Central London by rows of clothing that depicted the human cost of knife violence; calling on the British government to ban the use of machetes and “zombie knives”.
Recall in 2018 an eighteen year old Nigerian Isreal Ogunsola was stabbed to death in Hackney London while in year 2020 ten year old Damilola Taylor was killed in Peckham London by two brothers ages twelve and thirteen.
In recent years knife crime in the UK has surged with victims mostly teenagers.
