The Police in Katsina State has arrested one of the suspected bandits that took part in a recent attack on Diskuru Village in Faskari Area Council, where many lives were lost, including a soldier.
The spokesman of the Police command, Gambo Isah said 27 other suspected criminals were arrested for offences ranging from armed robbery, possession of fake dollar notes, drug dealing, and miscreants.
30-year-old Idi Sab’iu was among those arrested by the Police and believed to be a notorious member of a gang that attacked Kadisau Village in Fasakri earlier this year where over 40 persons were killed.
The same gang attacked Diskuru in Faskari and Dandume, where a soldier was killed while trying to rescue a nursing mother.
The suspected bandit, Idi Sab’iu has not denied his involvement. He however pleaded for mercy.
He said he was paid N20,000 after every successful operation.
Another gang of armed robbers and cattle rustling syndicates were also nabbed by the Police.

Also in custody is a 20 year old arrested with 63 pieces of counterfeit 100 dollar bills of American dollar.
