The Benue State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested 6 suspects for vandalizing rail line components.

This is in fulfilment of its mandate to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

NSCDC State Commandant, Sule Okeli, who paraded the suspects in Makurdi the state capital, warned vandals and other criminal elements to stay clear of the state.

The suspects were reportedly apprehended with a tipper truck conveying the vandalized rail line slippers, nuts, and bolts along Lafia Road, near the NYSC farm, within the Makurdi Metropolis. 2 other persons were equally arrested for suspected criminal breach of trust, theft, and cheating.

The suspects in both cases will be charged to court at the end of full investigation.
