The 8 Division of the Nigerian Army Sokoto, has urged the public to disregard a report making the rounds regarding alleged poor feeding of ttroops in Zamfara State, describing it as calculated to cause distraction and disharmony among the troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI fighting terrorism and banditry in North West Nigeria.

A statement by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations Ikechukwu Eze said the attention of the headquarters of 8 Division Nigerian Army, Sokoto was drawn to a report by Sahara Reporters online alleging troops deployed to Zamfara State are being poorly fed and have not been paid their December 2023 allowances.
The Statement said contrary to the claim of poor feeding of the troops, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, who is physically at the vanguard of ongoing clearance operations in Zamfara State, has been feeding from the same source as the troops, demonstrating his commitment to their well-being and morale.
The statement described as baffling, that the headquarters, which has prioritized the welfare of its troops has been accused of doing the opposite.
It acknowledged the possibility of isolated gaps in dispensing troops’ rations that will be addressed if brought to the knowledge of the authorities
