EndSARS Protest: Reps, heads of security agencies in crucial closed door meeting

Members of the House of Representatives and Heads of Security Agencies in the country are currently in a crucial closed door meeting, at instance of the House Leadership over the EndSARS protests in various parts of the Country.

In his remarks, Deputy Speaker of the House, Idris Wase, who presided over the meeting, explained that the meeting was called to find an amicable solution to the crisis in various parts of the country from the EndSARS protests.

Wase said that, the House in a resolution on Tuesday October 20, 2020 had mandated the House Leadership, to find an amicable resolution to the crisis.

Heads of security agencies present at the meeting include Jafaru Ahmed, Controller, Nigeria Correctional Service, Lawal Bichi, Director-General the Department of State Services, DSS, and Mohamed Babandede, the Controller-General Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.

Other security chiefs present are Bala Amchi, DIG Logistics and Supply who represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, Rear Admiral T. O Olaiya, Chief of Training for the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral ibokote Ibas and Major-Gen John Enenche, Coordinator, Defence Information who represented the Chief of Army Staff Lt. General. Tukur Buratai.

Journalists and other non-security personnel were later asked to vacate the meeting venue.
