The southeast caucus of the All Progressives Congress has met, in an attempt to redefine the agenda of the geo-political zone, as they restrategize for future elections in Nigeria.
The meeting came against the backdrop of strong insinuations of the defection of Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, to the ruling party.
For the ruling party’s family of the south east extraction, it is time to restrategise for renewal.
The planned disconnection of Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, from the Peoples Democratic Party may have precipitated the move to reposition the party in the southeast for more political gains.
But the body language of the APC politicians suggest that the realignment is still a work in progress.

Other interest groups in the party are not lying low.
Foot soldiers of former Lagos State Governor, who is widely believed to be nursing a presidential ambition under the aegis of Tinubu Support Movement, perhaps shaken by the twist in the south east, has also hit the ground running.
The focus for these politicians remains the 2023 general election, in the midst of deprivation, feeble and unsteady economic outlook.
