The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party, ANDP challenging the decision of the lower court which upheld the election of Douye Diri as governor of Bayelsa State.
In a unanimous decision delivered by a seven-man panel led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the court held that for ANDP to have presented an underage which the court described as a child for the election does not comply with the provisions of the constitution on nomination of candidates.
