Just In: Edo State Governor hails Supreme court ruling on Governor Diri’s election

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has hailed the Supreme Court verdict on the election of the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.


Governor Obaseki, in a statement released via his Twitter handle, described the ruling as a victory for democracy.

Obaseki, who said the ruling has put paid to issues surrounding the election, noted that Governor Diri is now free from any entanglements to enable him deliver on his promises to Bayelsa people in line with the manifesto of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa State.
