Edo State Government has assured residents that no stone will be left unturned in the quest to tackle headlong cult related clashes and subsequently reduce insecurity to the barest minimum.
Governor Godwin Obaseki gave this assurance when he received the recently deployed Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye and Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ebenezar Oduyebo who later joined him and other security personnel at the state security council meeting which held in Government House, Benin City.
The recently deployed Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye and the Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ebenezar Oduyebo newly posted to Edo State are at the Government House, Benin City to meet with Governor Godwin Obaseki.
CP Adegboye commends the security architecture on ground and is particularly impressed with the state command and control centre.
He alongside the Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, wants a sustenance of existing collaboration with the State Government to ensure a peaceful Edo.
The visit is closely followed by a meeting of the state security council which is attended by heads and representatives of security agencies.
They undertake a review of incidents of crime from July 1 to December 31, 2023.
Of particular concern to the Chief Security Officer of the State are the closely related cases of homicide and cultism.
The build up to the September off cycle election is also discussed.
Obaseki maintains that his administration is committed to securing the lives and properties of residents.
