Judgment in the suit filed by Two Civil Society Organisations, Pro-Tax Pro Nigeria Initiative and Centre for Prevention of Corruption and Human Rights Abuse Initiatives challenging the FCT Minister, Mohammed Adamu, over alleged double taxation on business has been reserved.
Justice kazziah Ogbonnaya reserved the judgement on Friday that date will be communicated to the parties .
The parties had alleged that the collection of tax from businesses and individuals by Outdoor Advertisement and Signage, DOAS, was an illegal act it amount to duplication of function which AMAC also performed.

Relying on Section 2 subsection 1 of the Taxes and Levies Act which states “No person other than the appropriate tax authority shall assess or collect on behalf of the government, any tax or levy listed in the act.
They, therefore, pray the court for immediate termination, withdrawer, and scrapping of DOAS in the Federal Capital Territory to avoid the continuation of further taxation of the people.
Joined in the suit as defendants are Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage, DOAS, and Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, respectively.
