The All Progressives Congress Governors Forum has described the defection of Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a justification of its claim that the APC is a unifying platform for Nigerians.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Bagudu in a statement says despite the fabricated campaign against APC and President Buhari, Gov. Umahi has made the bold decision of joining the APC based on the performance of the ruling party.
The Forum also congratulated Gov. Umahi for taking the step in the face of “intimidation, harassment and persecution” by the PDP.

The APC Governors noted that Umahi should not have been a member of PDP in the first place considering his achievements in Ebonyi State since 2015 when he became Governor.
The APC Governors also noted that the defection of Gov. Umahi is a strong acknowledgement of President Buhari’s credentials as a leader disposed to equity, justice and fairness.
