The immediate past INEC Chairman said he will seek a stronger law, powerful Institutions, and political will as Chairman of INEC if confirmed by the Senate.
He came out with this while being screened by a Senate Committee in Abuja on Thursday.
He said INEC has to deliver on over 1,500 activities ahead of 2023 General Elections-.
He appealed to the National Assembly to ensure the amendment of the Electoral Act by 2021; to ensure credible elections in 2023.

Yakubu also Backed Diapora and Early Votings; Insisting that both must be put in the Nigerian law.
On Voter apathy, Yakubu said INEC needs to do a lot on voter education. He however pointed out that the bulk of the work rests on the shoulders of political parties to mobilize voters.
He also blamed low voter turn out on poor performance of political office holders.
