Borno State Independent Electoral Commission, BOSIEC, said it has concluded arrangements to ensure hitch-free conduct of local government election scheduled for Saturday, 28th November in the state.

The executive chairman of BOSIEC, Abdu Usman said, six political parties are participating.

They include, the ADC, Accord, APC, APGA, PDP and the SDP.

The elections are to cover the 27 local government areas, as well as the 312 wards in the state.

The executive chairman, Abdu Usman, allayed the fears of political parties that are fielding candidates that the electoral umpire body, BOSIEC, shall remain neutral and unbiased.

Meanwhile, the police in Borno have announced restriction on vehicular movement from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to ensure the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s local council elections in the state.

The commissioner of police, Bello Makwashi, said that the restriction will cover tricycles, bicycles, as well as people on animals, except those on essential duties.

He advised the people to conduct themselves properly throughout the period of the exercise.

He said the police and other security agencies will deal decisively with persons caught fomenting trouble or breaking the electoral and other laws of the state.
