Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi is alleging a plot by some top politicians to breach the security of the state.
The Governor who briefed journalists on the outcome of the State Emergency Security Council Meeting in Abakaliki, claims that the alleged security information suggests that his political opponents were engaging cultists and members of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB to instigate crisis in the State.
Umahi’s allegations seem to confirm a brewing political battle between the Governor and his erstwhile political friends since he switched camp from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC about a week ago.

Governor Umahi notes that though the alleged security information at his disposal has not yet been verified, he wants security agencies in the State to reach out to the identified persons with the aim of unravelling the truth, and ensuring that peace reigns.
Other issues discussed at the meeting according to the Governor were the need for the security agencies to recommence implementation of government policies on unauthorised use of vehicle tinted glasses, covered number plates, escorts and sirens by government officials and other vehicle owners in the State.
