Police Confirm Kidnap Of 16 Travellers Along Kogi Highway

The Kogi State Police command has confirmed the kidnapping of about 16 travellers in commercial vehicles along Inele Eteke – Ogugu new road in the Olamaboro axis of the State, in the early hours of Monday.

The report says gunmen attacked the God is Good Motors with 13 passengers and ABC Sienna Bus, with 3 passengers.

The State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha confirmed the incident to journalist through the Command Public Relations Officer, Williams Ovye-Aya in Lokoja.

Onuoha has reportedly deployed Tactical Squad, consisting of Quick Response Unit, Police Mobile Force, Couter-Terrorism Unit, as well as conventional Police personnel to the area, to continue with the bush combing with Local Vigilantes and Hunters to ensure all victims are rescued unhurt.

So far, a driver of one of the commercial vehicle has been rescued, while rescue operation of the remains victims is on going.
