NAQS, OGFZA move to protect Nigeria’s agricultural economy

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, NAQS is partnering the Nigeria Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, OGFZA, in areas of trade facilitation and safeguarding the agricultural economy of the country.
 
This is made known in a statement released to Newsmen on Sunday, by Office of the NAQS Controller-General, Godwin Audu.

The statement notes that the development is to argument the efforts of the Federal Government in strengthening the Nigeria’s Agriculture ecosystem, with unwavering commitment to promoting trade while upholding global phytosanitary standards.
 
He emphasised that NAQS stands ready to support exporters in meeting global standards and facilitating a seamless process for those who adhere to regulatory requirements. He highlighted the agency’s willingness to work closely with OGFZA, offering guidance and information on export and import procedures.

Also in the statement, OGFZA Director-General, Bamanga Jada emphasised the need for collaboration between NAQS and the Authority to protect Nigeria’s agricultural economy.
 
He commended NAQS for its commitment to promoting trade while maintaining stringent standards, stressing the importance of a harmonious relationship between the two regulatory agencies.
