The people of Sabuwa, one of the front line area councils facing the menace of banditry have requested the Katsina State government to reinforce security in their area.

The call was made through the Member representing the area in the state’s House of Assembly, Ibrahim Danjuma. after Boko Haram insurgents gruesomely massacred over 43 rice farmers in Borno State.

According to Danjuma, the people are living in fears, after suspected bandits reportedly slaughtered 7 farmers, including a nursing mother across 3 villages of Tashar Bama, Dogon Muazu and Ungwar Maigayya, in Sabuwa Area Council.

The law maker who was sponsoring a bill for the reinforcement of security agents to some of the affected villages, stressed that the bandits have changed their tactics of night attacks to broad day light.

He added that apart from the number killed, the bandits abducted a total of 30 other villagers from the affected communities.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Tasiu Maigari, has directed the Clerk of the House to forward the position of the members, on the need to reinforce security in parts of Sabuwa communities, to the Governor.
