The Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering leadership excellence and addressing national security challenges, as demonstrated through initiatives such as promotion examination.

Commander of Training and Doctrine of the Nigeria Army, Major-General Kevin Aligbe stated this at the 2024 Lieutenant to Captain practical promotion examination in Jos, the Plateau State capital, North-Central Nigeria.

The Lieutenant to Captain Practical examination is designed to assess the proficiency of officers for higher responsibilities and Major-General Aligbe while addressing them said the exercise is aimed at assessing their knowledge in the command and tactical deployment of a mechanised infantry company in all phases of war especially with the current security challenges bedeviling the country.

Major-General Aligbe, who emphasised the examination’s role in upholding the standards of the Nigerian Army and ensuring the preparedness of officers for elevated ranks reminded them that they only have three attempts to pass the Lieutenant to Captain examination.

General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Major-General Abdulsalam Abubakar while charging them to put in their best reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment towards addressing threats such as banditry, kidnapping, clashes, illegal arms deals, and drug addiction.

A total of 440 officers of the Nigerian Army from across the federation are participating in the 2024 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion examination in Jos, the Platea state Capital.
