Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has ordered the Stoppage of levy collection by the Kaduna State University, (KASU), management.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mohammed Shehu, states that collecting levies from students contradicts the state government’s downward review of the existing fees regime announced in 2023.

The statement clarified that the fee reduction was implemented as an intervention, to alleviate the impact of the overall rise in the cost of living, particularly, following the removal of petroleum subsidies.

The Kaduna State Government emphasizes its commitment to easing the hardships faced by the people, pledging to initiate policies, programmes and projects, to bring relief to the poor, underserved and vulnerable population.

Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his administration’s dedication, to taking necessary measures, to ensure free and quality education access for every citizen in Kaduna State, from primary to the tertiary levels.
