The All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, has called on the Federal Government to look into the security situation in the country especially as it concerns the protection of farmers and their farms.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, AFAN President, Farouk Mudi urged the federal government to compensate the bereaved families of Borno Massacre while setting up security measures to protect farmers across the country.

Mudi added that the body is working out modalities on how to protect it, members, because if they stay at home they may be killed by hunger and starvation and if they go out to their farmlands, they might be killed by insurgents.
He appealed to the government to consult widely before taking decisions that bothers on security and called on government to tighten up security across all farming communities in the country.
