Interim management board not restrained from functions…NDDC

The Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC says its acting managing director, Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, and members of the Interim Management Committee, IMC, were not restrained by any Court to perform their functions.

A statement issued by the director of corporate affairs, NDDC, Charles Odili, said the commission wishes to state that the order of an Abuja high court on October 27, 2020, granted the applicant leave to apply for judicial review for an order of mandamus in terms of the reliefs set out in the statement in support of the application for leave.

He said this does not and cannot constitute a court order, as such orders are unequivocal and positive, and the applicants being fully aware that no such order was granted by the court are deliberately and mischievously misinterpreting the order of the court to suit their selfish objective.

Odili said the NDDC against whom the relief was sought is not a party to the suit and the honourable court will not fall into the elementary trap of making an Order against a person who is not a party to the suit.

He however advised the general public to ignore this attempt to create unstable atmosphere and distract members of the NDDC IMC from the gains so far recorded.
