The Newly sworn-in local government chairmen in Akwa Ibom state have been reminded that they were elected to serve the people of the state.
Governor Udom Emmanuel gave the reminder in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital, at the inauguration of the elected local council officials for a three-year tenure.
While taking the oath of office, Governor Emmanuel charged the 31 local government council chairmen and their vices to join hands with his administration to achieve his vision that will benefit the people.
The Governor admonished the Vice Chairmen not to entertain fear, but to work together with their chairmen and debunked insinuations that the state government will tamper with the local government finances.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, won All the 31 local government chairmanships and the 368 councillorship seats at the elections.
