Kano State Hisbah Board has advised residents of other religions not fasting at this period not to eat openly or do anything publicly that would undermine the Islamic religion or put those fasting into temptation by their actions.
Director-General of the Board, Abba Sai’Idu in an exclusive chat with AIT.live says the enforcement team now has more frequent patrols around the city to arrest any Muslim seen engaging in any practice that is not in line with the Islamic culture during the Holy month.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Muslims are expected to abstain from eating, drinking, sex and smoking during the day time and other acts not allowed by the Holy Quran.

Abubakar Usman and Abubakar Ibrahim are Muslims observing the Ramadan fast. The duo wants resource mobilisation by manufacturers and those in government to cater for the needs of the less privileged who are fasting at this time.
At the moment, not many food vendors in Kano State are operating in the day time as many of their customers are engaged in the fasting except for Christian-dominated areas like Sabon Gari, Bompai and Jaba.
