About 48 hours after the Kankara Government Science Secondary School abduction, the Katsina State Government says 333 students are yet to be accounted for out of the total of 839 population.

Governor Aminu Masari who stated this when he received a high powered delegation of all service chiefs led by the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd) on a sympathy and condolence visit.

He also called on parents whose children have returned home to report the development to relevant security agencies for proper documentation as the search is still ongoing as most students have gone back to their various houses across the State.

Masari further stressed that as at the moment, they are yet to be contacted by any group or person responsible for the abduction of the students.

On his part, the Defence Minister assured that, within the next few hours the students will be back without any collateral damage to the people of Katsina State.

He also added that with the adequate intelligence gathered and unity of purpose among the security agencies, they have stratergised to rescue the students.

While condemning the act in its entirety, Magashi said it is high time the Federal Government declares these kinds of people as terrorists because it will in effect encourage people to sit up.
