There was light drama at the Presidential Villa on Monday, the venue of the inauguration of a Technical Committee, comprising of the federal government, the organised labour and other stakeholders in the petroleum industry, for the monitoring and stabilization of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS price framework.
The drama ensued when labour challenged the minister of labour and employment Chris Ngige, on why he brought in Engineer Anyaoku Onochie, from the private sector to chair the committee and threatened a walkout while all along, talks have been between the Organised Labour and Federal Government.
Last week, the federal government and organised labour, agreed to reduce the price of petrol by five naira from Monday, December 14, 2020, after weeks of two consecutive increases.
And visits by ait.live to some filling stations within the Abuja metropolis on Monday, December 14, show that only the NNPC owned station, has effected the N5 reduction on PMS pump price.

The committee, which is made up of representatives from the NLC, TUC, Ministries of Labour and petroleum resources, the presidency, and the private sector, is expected to submit its report on January 25, 2021.
