Adamawa the ancestral state of the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, has witnessed the flag-off of the distribution of food items and cash gifts to vulnerable communities.
The beneficiaries are mostly women, children, and youths.

Over thirty groups are benefitting from the program. They include religious and social groups, widows, the disabled, orphanages and the correctional facilities.
The wife of the president, represented by the special assistant to the first lady on media and publicity, Aliyu Abdullahi, said the objective of the food and cash intervention by the first lady, is to complement the federal government’s effort, towards improving the livelihood and income of vulnerable communities across the country.

Goodwill messages were delivered by dignitaries at the event, with the high point being the symbolic handing over of the items to leaders of the various benefitting groups.
Some beneficiaries express joy over the event, describing it as timely.
