Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on the state’s judiciary to remain impartial in the discharge of their duty.

Governor Mohammed who made the call during the celebration of the 2020/2021 Annual Legal Year, held at the Bauchi State High Court Complex, said such action will increase public confidence in the judiciary, as the last hope of the common man.

He expressed his appreciation to the judiciary over what he described as financial prudence and accountability, considering the revenue being generated by the judicial arm of government.

Governor Mohammed also assured the judiciary of his administration’s support and cooperation.

He said in the 2021 budget estimate, the Bauchi State government would construct judges and khadis’ quarters in the state.

The Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Rabi Umar, appealed to the National Judicial Service Commission for additional slots for judges and khadis, for speedy dispensation of justice.

The Chief Judge also urged the governor to complete their abandoned projects to enable the judiciary discharge its statutory responsibility under a conducive environment.

The aim of the day was to review the administration of justice in the state during the preceding year, with a view to making positive improvement and move with modern trends of justice delivery, in line with an adage that says, justice delayed, is justice denied.
