The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the State Independent Electoral Commission for the peaceful conduct of Local Government Election in the State.
Governor Ikpeazu gave this commendation shortly after casting his vote around 1pm at his polling unit in Umuobiakwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of the State.
He stated that with the election, the youths can participate at the grassroots level, calling on elected representatives to pay attention to rural infrastructure.

Results for elected Chairmen and Councillors for the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, are expected to be announced much later on Friday.
