Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has decried recent calls in some quarters, demanding the sack of the country’s Service Chiefs.
Speaking in Abakaliki, on the backdrop of the release of the 343 students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina State abducted 7 days ago, Umahi said what the Service Chiefs and current government required at this period of national
security challenges is the support of Nigerians and not negative comments.
The Governor is commended the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari; Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari and the security agencies for ensuring that the kidnapped schoolboys are reunited with their parents unhurt, describing their release from captivity as a perfect birthday gift to the President.

The Ebonyi State Governor, who also doubles as the Chairman, Southeast Governors Forum, described as laughable the formation of what he called illegal security outfit code-named “Southeast Security Network” by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, insisting that the zone remains the safest in the country contrary to social media reports.
