The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has described the establishment of stable security in Abia state as the only way to create an appropriate ambiance for business development.
Ikpeazu made the observation at the Government House Umuahia, during the official inauguration of the Abia Safety Alert System, ABSAS, Command and Control Centre, a digital technology-driven initiative that provides the people with a quick channel of reporting security issues around them to security agents.
According to the Governor, the initiative underscores the importance of his administration places on the security of lives and properties of Abia residents.
The State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Dan Okoli, pointed out that the present administration is focused on making Abia the foremost state in the deployment of technology to tackle crimes.

Security experts said that the ABSAS will offer users a wide range of services such as vehicle/property authentication, as well as enable users to register their belongings such as mobile phones, electronics, tricycles among others.
