Dry season farmers in Gombe state are in for a good season as the state government has started the distribution of essential implements for farming.
The implements which include water pumps, project vehicles and motorcycles were unveiled by the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya.

The distribution is in partnership with the Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Programme, IBSDLEIP under the African Development Bank, AfDB.
Many of the beneficiaries say the distribution is a show of support for dry season farmers with the provision for essential tools to boost dry season farming and ensure food security in the New Year.

It is indeed a major boost for the people of Gombe State with 75 percent of them engaged in agriculture and major efforts to sustain food production in the country.
The delivery of the farm implements will ensure that the task of sustaining food security, in the long run, is achieved including better management of water resources in the state.
The support is expected to trigger the harvest of more crops ahead of the normal annual raining season.
