The Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has disclosed plans to review the security situation in Katsina-Ala and Ukum, following the recent ban of motorcycles in the area.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the Governor hinted that the State Security Council will meet next week to re evaluate measures taken earlier.

He said his attention had been drawn to reports of the destruction of impounded motorcycles in Ukum and Katsina-Ala, and gave assurances of the Security Council to look into the matter.
Late December the State security council banned the use of motorcycles as well as mounting of illegal check points in the 2 affected local councils to contain the escalating violence in the area which claimed several lives.
