27 years after one of Elijah Adeyemi was allegedly killed by a Police Officer, his family, the Olujide Family of Ikinyinwa, Osun State demands justice be served.
The case of Adeyemi and many more were brought before the Osun State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police brutality, Human Rights Violations, and Related Extra-Judicial Killings, after three weeks of yuletide break in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital.
A total of 5 cases were heard for the day.
Joseph & Adedayo Olujide are submitting to the discretion of the panel over the alleged extrajudicial murder of their brother, Elijah Adeyemi, by a police officer in October 1993.
Another petition was filed by Azeez Oderinde over the alleged withholding of his checkbook by the police after a court order was granted for a 30 million naira indemnity to be paid by the Osun State Government after his 2 houses were demolished in Ilobu.
Wasiu Jimoh also is seeking an amendment of petition over an alleged illegal seizure of his commercial vehicle and his subsequent detainment by the Police after a court order was given for its release.
The Osun Judicial Panel of Inquiry is therefore submitting that the activities of the Nigeria Police force must be checkmated in order to further prevent the break down of law and order.
