Three herdsmen suspected to be kidnappers have been killed in Aiyete, Ibarapa area of Oyo State, South-West Nigeria.
Commandant of Amotekun Corps, Colonel Olayanju Olayinka (Rtd) in a phone call with ait.live said, their members along with local vigilantes were on routine duty combing bushes in the area when they sited the suspects who opened fire at them.
To defend themselves, they responded leading to the killing of the 3 persons while several members of the corps and local vigilante were seriously injured.

The Commandant also said contrary to reports that there was another attack in Tappa in the Ibarapa area there was no such incident.
He said the incident in Tappa was only the refusal by locals who were having a carnival which denied the corps the opportunity of using the area as entry into Aiyete.
He said immediately the brick wall was met they turned back and used another entry.
