The Nigeria immigration service says the fire incident at its headquarters has caused a setback to its Migration Information and Data Analysis System and a disconnect from real-time connection to INTERPOL.
The Comptroller General of the Service, Muhammad Babandede, disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Abuja.
Although the total cost of damage has not been ascertained, the Comptroller General said a technical team of investigation has been set up.
The Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Balgore, assured Nigerians that the unfortunate fire incident will not affect immigration’s Service to Nigerians both home and abroad.

The Service has also assured the public that there is no cause for alarm and that the fire did not affect any financial records.
