Kano Police in crackdown on fraudulent syndicates

Police in Kano say they have smashed an armed robbery and phone snatching syndicate terrorizing residents of Sabon Gari, Sharada and Saunar Kawaji areas.

A statement signed by the Kano Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna says 12 suspected gang members were arrested

The syndicate is believed to be led by 18 year old Nura Muhammad and 20 year old Yusuf Dayyabu.

The suspects, from whom dangerous weapons were recovered, were said to have confessed to the crimes and will be arraigned in court 4 others suspected of supplying intoxicants to the gang and other criminals were also arrested.

Also in the Kano Police Command net are members of another 4-man gang specialized in stealing money from people’s bank accounts through the use of the account holders’ SIM cards.

The suspected group of fraudsters is believed to be led by 25-year old Kabiru Adamu

The arrests were made after one Abdulsalam Isa of Gwagwarwa quarters lost his N330,000=(Three hundred and thirty naira) and a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at N180,000=(One hundred and eighty thousand naira) to the suspects.
