Katsina State Government has assured the people of the state of robust and all-inclusive plans, to ensure that the state returns to its original home of hospitality and heritage.

Governor Aminu Masari said this during this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day, at the military cenotaph in Katsina.

He said, his administration will continue to provide welfare and collaborate with the security agencies in the state to defeat banditry and other crimes.

Governor Aminu Masari who was represented by his deputy, Mannir Yakubu, hailed the professionalism and doggedness of the military and other security agencies.

He said, their gallant efforts led to the rescue of the 344 schoolboys of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.

Masari added that, though some members of the armed forces paid the supreme price while discharging their responsibilities of keeping the nation one, their efforts will not go unrewarded, especially, the families of the fallen heroes, as well as those in service.

Some of the widows of the fallen heroes and members of the state’s Chapter of the Nigeria Legion and those still in service, who declined comments on camera, hailed the government for its welfare package efforts so far, but called for more.

They however prayed for improved security in the state and nation at large, to bring about peace and development.
