Police say a joint operation with sister agencies at a forest in Omini community of Izzi Local Government Area, of Ebonyi State has led to the killing of three suspected criminals with five others arrested.
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu in a statement released in Abakaliki said three Sienna vehicles without number plates were recovered from the camp, among other incriminating items.

“Exhibits recovered in the course of the operation include; One AK 47 rifle with 16 rounds of ammunition, a bag containing two thousand rounds of ammunition, a police warrant card, a portrait of an unidentified person, one motorcycle and telephone”, the statement reads in part.
The Police claim that exhibits recovered from the scene, were indicative that the suspects may have been responsible for recent attacks and killing of Police officers within the Abakaliki metropolis and Ohaukwu, a neighbouring Local Government Area to the State capital.
About a forthright ago, suspected gunmen had attacked and killed four Policemen and two female civilians at a checkpoint in the Hilltop area of the state capital.
