Death toll from the Thursday’s terrorist attack on Madaka weekly market in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria has risen to 30 people. This is as the village head of Madaka, Saleh Kakuri, and vigilante deputy commander, Iko were among those killed.
Similarly, the terrorists were said to have also invaded Majanjan District in the same Rafi Local Government Area during which the Village Head, also known as Maianguwan of Anguwan Bala, Salihu Immahuri, and his two wives were seized and killed.
It was also gathered that Adamu Immahuri, who is a brother to the deceased traditional ruler, and his four wives, Shehu Salihu and Jamilu Isah are among the 30 bodies recovered so far from the communities after the invasion of the terrorists.
A traditional ruler from the area who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that about 30 bodies had been recovered by the villagers.
Recall that, terrorists attacked the communities at about 3.30pm on Thursday during the weekly market and operated for hours without response from security agencies, burning about 50 houses including commercial shops, many cars, and motorcycles during the attack.
