Former Secretary-General Catholic Secretariat, Fr. Raphael Madu dies

Fr. Raphael Madu

The immediate past Secretary General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Reverend Father Monsignor Raphael Madu is dead.

Fr Madu was the Director of Social Communications, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria before the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria appointed him on September 2012 as the new Secretary-General which took effect from January 2013.

In 2019, Fr Raphael Madu was transferred to Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, he was born in Lagos State on September 28, 1955, and ordained a Priest on July 9, 1983, for Owerri Archdiocese.

He had his Masters Degree in Education majoring in Administration and Supervision from Fordham University New York as well as his Ph.D. from Catholic University, Louvain, Belgium
