Nollywood thrown into mourning again as veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor dies at 61

Legendary Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor has died at the age of 61 after battling kidney failure that partially paralysed his left leg.

The Idemili North Local Government Area Anambra State born actor was said to have breathed his last Sunday March 24th 2024 at a hospital where he was receiving medical treatment in the state.

A couple of days ago Amaechi had called on members of the public for financial support to enable him undergo a kidney transplant in India.

Born August 20, 1962, Amaechi Muonagor began his career in filmmaking in the late 1980s and has acted in several movies.

Worthy of note was his role in the hilarious film “Aki and Paw Paw” where he played the role of a father of two mischievous boys

He was nominated for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards Best Actor in a Comedy in 2017.

Amaechi Muonagor’s death is coming weeks after the passing of Nollywood actor John Okafor Mr Ibu who died March 2nd 2024 in Lagos.
