The Nigerian Army has begun its recruitment exercise for the Short Service Commission Course 47 and Executive Commission Course 1/2021.
The exercise for candidates is holding at its training area at the Falgore Forest, in Kano State.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, says the decision to conduct the exercise in Falgore Forest is to ensure that better candidates are selected for the training and further deployment to defend the country.

Buratai, who was represented by the Chief of Training and Operations, Major-General Nuhu Angbazo, urged the candidates to be serious with the exercise, as only those who meet the criteria would be selected.

He said they must be ready to rise in defense of the country against bandits and terrorists, as they will be posted to the northeast, particularly the Sambisa forest.
A Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission, retired Major-General Suleiman Saheed, said the board would ensure that only qualified candidates would be selected, adding that merit would be considered.

At the end of the selection process, successful candidates for the Short Service will proceed for nine months of training at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, while those for the executive commission move to Kachia, for four months of intensive training.
