Zamfara State Governor guarantees residents of improved security, gives victims of Janbako attack N5m

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed, has reassured the people of the state of improved security and stability in the coming days, as his administration is taking steps to curtail the renewed attacks.

The Governor gave the assurance during his visit to Kanoma and Janbako communities of Maru and Maradun Local Government Areas of the state, where bandits had launched attacks on innocent citizens, a few days ago.

Governor Mohammed in the company of Heads of Security agencies and some members of the State Executive Council, visited the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, at Kanoma, and the victims of the recent attack at Janbako in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

He told the people that he was in their midst to provide succour and reassure them of his administration’s determination, to ensure robust security, at the flashpoints.

Governor Mohammed ordered the deployment of more security operatives, to protect and secure the people in the affected eight communities and doled out N5m to the families of the victims at Janbako, to alleviate their plights.

He urged the residents of the state to embrace the peace initiative, and refrain from taking the law into their hands.
