The Bayelsa State Government says it received the sum of 27.5 billion naira as refund from the federal government for projects executed in the state instead of the 38 billion naira widely circulated in sections of the media.

Technical Adviser to the state governor on treasury and accounts, Timinipre Seipulo, made the disclosure in Yenagoa during the transparency briefing initiative of the state government for the months of November and December 2020.

While presenting his breakdown of income and expenditure for the months under review, Seipulo further announced the sum of N9.3B as the amount earmarked for recurrent and capital expenses, while the net balance after all expenditure stood at N16.9b as money left in the state coffers and carried forward from December.
