The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has advised the new Service Chiefs to collaborate with the armed forces of the neighbouring countries of Chad, Cameroon, and the Niger Republic in the fight against terrorism.

Zulum made the request when he hosted the Service Chiefs, who hit the ground running on their first trip to Borno State, the centre of the war against insurgency.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor, led the Chiefs of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Zubairu Gambo, and Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, the Chief of Air Staff.

Governor Zulum also sought enhanced ties between the military and the civilian population, to enhance the military’s access to credible intelligence.

The Governor assured his administration’s commitment and support to the armed forces in the ongoing war.

Zulum also urged the Service Chiefs, to tolerate fair and constructive criticisms made in good faith.

The Governor also asked the military to ensure continued and sustained operations, to deny the insurgents breathing space.

The Chief of Defence Staff assured that military operations will receive a boost in order to flush out the insurgents, completely.
