The management of the University of Abuja has reacted to the students’ protest which took place on Monday, demanding the reopening and the extension of the school fees payment portal, cancellation of the late registration fee, and the postponement of exams till the 8th of March 2021.

In a statement by the institution’s head of public relations, Habib Yakoob, the management, said that some matters raised by the students have been addressed including the reopening of the portal, while the issue of the examination dates have been penciled down by the senate, online with the school calendar before the February 1st resumption.

Yakoob said that some unscrupulous elements in disguise as students, are the protesters, but promised that the school management is working towards ensuring that there is mutual understanding between the authorities and students, for a smooth academics operation, as one of their demands has been met by again reopening the portal for two weeks ending on the 14th of February.
