Adamawa govt. reintegrates internally displaced persons

After six years of refuge at the Saint Theresa’s Cathedral Catholic Church in Yola Adamawa State, the internally displaced persons there will be relocating to a permanent residence at Jabbi Lamba.

The Victims of insurgency that fled their ancestral homes, will be starting new life in the Jabbi Lamba community, which has access to primary health care, education, potable water, a mosque, and a church.

The Catholic Bishop of Saint Theresa’s Cathedral, Bishop Dami Mamza, expressed his happiness that the internally displaced persons will be having a place they call home.

Bishop Dami Mamza, then called on the North East Development Commission, to ensure that all the internally displaced persons in government camps are also reintegrated back to their homes, or to safer communities.

As the community members of Jabbi Lamba anticipate the coming of the internally displaced persons to their area, they are also asking the government to boost security in the area.

Eighty-six internally displaced persons are expected to assume ownership of new the houses, in April, 2021.
